Pork fillet is one of the most delicious cuts of meat out there. It isn’t always cheap either, which means you need to do it justice when you cook it. You don’t want your money to go to waste, and you probably want the people you’re feeding to enjoy themselves too. Let’s take a look at some great ideas:

Don’t Overcook When Roasting

Roasting your pork fillet will produce something tender, juicy, and filling – but only if you do it right. It’s very easy to overcook your meat when roasting. This won’t turn out well at all. You’ll end up with a dry piece of meat and not much taste to boast about. Don’t get cocky with your pork fillet, and make sure you read the instructions on the pack, if there are any. If there aren’t, read up on different recipes online and select the most appropriate one.

Use a Meat Thermometer

Using a meat thermometer will help you to determine when the meat is at the right temperature without cutting it open and ruining the presentation.

Use Plenty of Herbs and Spices

Herbs and spices can make a world of difference; you just need to use the right ones. You could use mixed Italian herbs, or a herb like rosemary. Rosemary was made for pork fillets! If you want a bit of an oriental flavour about your dish, try using spices too. You could follow recipe instructions online, or you could go with whatever you fancy and make up your own creations. This doesn’t always end well, so be warned!

Don’t forget, many fresh ingredients can be used to make your pork fillet more flavoursome. I love the combination of garlic and lemon juice!

Flavour With a Marinade

A marinade can be store-bought, or you can make it yourself. I find the tastiest marinades are made at home! You then soak the meat in the marinade for at least a few hours before cooking. I think leaving it overnight is best, so that the meat can fully absorb all of the delicious flavour. You would use a marinade in place of dry herbs and spices.

Smother in Sauce

Rather than use herbs/spices or a marinade, you can smother your pork in a delicious sauce. Mushroom sauce includes ingredients such as cream, red wine, and of course, mushrooms. This tastes divine with a pork fillet.

Stuff It

Some people prefer to stuff their pork fillet. Not just with anything though; stuffing! This is the perfect addition to a roast dinner or a nice, hearty meal on a cold day. The two work together very well, and produce a satisfying, tasty dish.

Once you’ve cooked your pork fillet, all you need to worry about are the sides. I suggest some fresh country vegetables and boiled new potatoes. Yummy! Click here for more interesting posts on food.

I hope I’ve given you lots of inspiration for your pork fillet. Have a great time experimenting with different combinations, and be sure to comment to tell me how it went. Good luck!
