With many parents across the world frantically trying to teach their children at home, it has become evident that some schools are more organized than others. Whilst some have easily switched to online learning using Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts, and Zoom, there is still a large proportion that are still trying to set, view and mark the work of their pupils. This sudden shift in the education style will cause a fracture in the educational level of children with some being much further ahead than others.
As a parent that has been furloughed due to the coronavirus pandemic of recent months, I have used this time to help educate my children, whilst also finding training for myself. During my search for online resources, I came across OneClass.com.
OneClass has an extensive library of exam study guides, lecture notes and video tutorials that have been created by students and teachers. OneClass’s mission was to put the student first and deliver useful study resources that are fresh and relevant to the reader.
More recently, OneClass has started streaming lessons seven days a week for students from 11, all the way to college and university. I watched an array of live streams from Janine and Joey that covered algebra, trigonometry, calculus and SAT papers. At the moment, the free content seems to be focused around maths and chemistry, but I’m sure there is more to come. On top of the daily lessons, the team is also offering a staggering 100,000 hours of free tutoring. You simply visit their site, book a time and the OneClass team will assist in your education. This is such a fantastic service that shows the kindness of strangers during this difficult time.
At first, I was worried about the legitimacy of the company, as I had not heard of them before, but the site showcases that they are the first education company to receive an ICAI review. The International Center for Academic Integrity’s purpose is to review the academic integrity policies of higher-education institutions, and OneClass was the first education technology company to have received their review.
So, if you or your children are looking for additional maths and chemistry assistance during these unprecedented times, take a look at their live streams, take note of their weekly schedule and book in for a free consultation with a professional tutor. A good education for our children is so important and it is a shame that COVID-19 is disrupting their growth. It’s wonderful to see companies use their skills to help those most affected by recent events. Thanks OneClass, keep up the good work.
