[dropcap size=big]C[/dropcap]risps, pizza and a burger are not the meals one expects to see on the menu of anyone supposedly on a diet and yet each and every one passed my lips. As you can assume, the mini break to Aldeburgh did nothing for my diet.

The weekdays seemed to go OK as I went to he gym three times, stuck to my Slimfast and avoided snacking. Friday is where it all went wrong. My wife asked me not to diet in front of the children, as she felt it sent a bad message to them. So being the dutiful ‘hungry’ husband I am, I promptly agreed. Prezzo was the scene of my first crime. My weak will buckled and I went for a large pizza. To help quell my guilt I stuck to water and avoided the side of garlic bread on the table. Although that saved me an additional 300 calories, the pizza alone must have weighed in at 700 calories.

Once I had tasted diet freedom I somehow became drunk on food. That evening I had crisps, Spaghetti Bolognese and a few glasses of wine. It was heavenly. Thankfully the following days were a little more controlled aside from the aforementioned burger on Sunday (it wasn’t as good as I had hoped it would be).

Anyway, by the time Tuesday and the weigh in came round I knew my weekend of food debauchery would have an effect. Here are the figures:

[column size=one_half position=first ]Weight:

BMI:

Body Fat:

[column size=one_half position=last ]12st 3lb -1lb

26.3 -0.1

29.8% +0.7

Not good results by any stretch of the imagination but at least the new shoe incident has leveled its self out.

Apparently, the average January diet lasts 10 days and even though I had a hiccup I still intend to keep it up for at least 5 weeks or till I get near my target weight.
